From your brain to your skin and bones, what you eat makes a huge difference in how you age and how you feel. Which is why food has fast become the focus point in everyday life when it comes to health and how food can have a healing influence, or be the cause of disease.
Watching what people order at a restaurant or what they dish up at the buffet table or as I like to call it, “the South African Epidemic”, is one of my favourite pass times. Seeing mounds of potatoes dripping in sugar-laden sauce followed by stacks of sugary treats to finish it off are the norm in these environments.
